Observatório

2020

Observatório unfolds in a Portuguese town called Avis and becomes a sensitive appropriation of the space.

The initial search for organic materials and specific information aims to reveal the unique identity of this place, distinguishing it from any other.

The line emerges as a central element: first tracing the contours and boundaries of the territory on a map, then manifesting within the landscape itself as an imaginary line connecting senses and memories.
Silences, like in musical compositions, play a fundamental role, not as absence, but as a revealing presence.
Observatorio is a compendium of an investigation work that goes through different paths, its construction passes through the materialization of the silence of this space, the things that surround us, which we don’t notice anymore. More than representing the place itself, Observatório translates the experience of the location through its shapes, sounds, and textures, synthesizing different elements into a single artistic gesture, here symbolized by the line.
